Crazy weekend

This past weekend was crazy busy for us. It followed two really busy weeks. My sister Sarah got married this past Friday. My sister Debbie and I have spent the last two weeks trying to get matching outfits for all the sisters to be bridesmaids. We decided to make the skirts which we thought would be pretty easy but were so time consuming! So Friday was the wedding and of course the weather was terrible! The roads were so bad, we pulled up to the Salt Lake Temple at 1:37 and the sealing started at 1:40. So I jumped out of the truck and ran down the block and through the Temple. Tim didn't make it inside in time, He parked the car and got the kids out, but I barely made it (and then humiliated myself by sobbing because I was so relieved that I made it). The reception was five miles away but it took us two hours to get there because of the roads. The reception was beautiful as well as the Bride and everything besides the weather went really well.
Saturday morning we had family pictures in Brigham City with horrible weather and roads again, and then we rushed off to Huntington to celebrate Tim's parent's 70th wedding anniversary. We spent the night there and then rushed back to Brigham City for my family's Christmas Party. We got home late last night. It is a relief to relax today!

Kamron at the wedding. He is filling out!

Santa Claus

We had a Christmas Party at my parent's house last night with a surprise visit from Santa. Here are some pictures of the kids.

My nephew Liam came in to tell on Matt for pinching him so Tim went to find out what was going on. He found Matt very upset and crying. Apparently some of his cousins were telling him that Santa wasn't real. He was so sad and upset. But he felt vindicated when Santa showed up. Apparently Liam was converted to believe again because he yelled, "I didn't think you were real!" And then when Santa mentioned his elves, he said, "he said elves!" It was pretty funny!

Locked Out!!!

Chase has been trying to figure out doors lately. He has figured out how to open the downstairs bathroom door in our house but so far that is the only one (it must be easier to open or something). He likes to close the doors in the house and quite often gets stuck in a room because he has shut himself in. Well for some reason, if there is a lock on the door that you lock by turning a little thing on the door knob, he thinks that helps him open the door or something. I knew he did this but I have always been inside when he locked the door and never thought about the possibility of being outside. We have a lock like this on our front door and the door out to the garage. The other day I had been shopping and when I got home both younger boys were stinky and hungry so I got them taken care of and then went out to get the bags out of the trunk. I left the door open cause I was just going to be a second and heard Chase shut it. But I didn't think much of it until I went to open the door. Yep Chase had locked it. I was in shock for a minute. I didn't have a key or a phone. So I ran around to check the front door not expecting it to be open because we had been gone all day. Sure enough it was locked too. All the blinds were shut so I couldn't see in. About that time Kamron started screaming, then Chase started crying. I was imagining Chase crawling into Kam's car seat and laying on top of him (which he has done several times) so I started to panic thinking that my baby could be suffocating just on the other side of the door and there was nothing I could do about it. So I was crying and praying and yelling for Chase to unlock the door and trying to think which window would be the best to break. After about ten minutes Chase turned the lock again and let me in. I was so relieved and then I was really mad!!! So needless to say I hid a spare key outside so the next time I can get in.
Just a few days later I was over at my parents house along with Debbie and her kids and David and his kids. Debbie came upstairs and said Chase was locked in a bedroom. Sure enough, he got in a room and again turned the same kind of lock and was stuck. Usually it is easy to break out of a bedroom but this door required a specific key. So mom got every key she could find and we tried them all but none of them worked. After about a half hour David, my brother, was able to use a pocket knife and screwdriver to break him out. You would think he would learn! I tried to show him how he locked it but he just freaked out that I was locking him in again.
Then (yes I know you would think we would learn) I took Matt to get his haircut the other day and I was paying for it so I had my back to the front door. And a lady that worked there came in and said is there a reason that the front door is locked. Yeah, he had locked the door of the business. What a twerp!!!

Manger Scene

So we were at my parents house last night and I saw this little gingerbread manger scene. I didn't think much of it until I found out that my dad made it and then I thought it was pretty funny. But come to find out that the youth were making gingerbread houses at mutual last Wednesday to use as table centerpieces for the Ward Christmas party. Dad goes to mutual since he is in the Bishopric and he decided to make one too but made a manger scene instead. It was pretty funny with a Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. He used animal crackers for the animals and had little marshmallow angels with halos and everything. My sisters and I were busy making dinner and trying to make skirts for the bridesmaids for my sister's wedding next Friday and my parents were in Layton. So nobody was really paying attention to Mia and Chase. I walked into the kitchen and this is what I found!

Hopefully Dad doesn't care too much that they ate the manger scene! At least they were getting along for once.
